Yakima's Accessory Lock Housing is used to lock rack accessories to a vehicle's crossbar. Instead of a hex key, Yakima uses the Accessory Lock Housing to secure a bolt to a certain component, such as a wheeltray and SNAR (Yakima Snap Around attachment) or fairing and bracket. This is ONLY the housing, lock-core sold separately.

Use this Yakima universal locking skewer to replace lost skewers on Yakima Boa bike mounts or older Yakima Copperhead bike mounts. Locking long throw skewer offers one-step adjustment, making it easy to load and unload bicycles.

The Yakima "Same Key System" (SKS) Lock Cores offer instant security for lockable Yakima accessories. Yakima offers their Lock Cores separately from other products as a convenience, so that you can have one key for your entire Yakima system. Say, for instance, you purchased a Q-tower system and two bike mounts. If the cores came with each product, then they would not match and you would have 3 different keys for your rack system. Add another accessory, add another key to the chain. Instead, a 6 pack of lock cores will lock the set of towers and both bike mounts and keep everything on the same key.

The Locking Yakima Universal Skewer is a replacement part. The Locking Skewer fits most fork mount bike racks from Yakima, and some other car roof fork mount bike carriers.
