Gregory Flo Form II Shoulder Harness (Fall 2005)

The Gregory Flo Form II shoulder harness is molded from a single piece of the highest quality Evasote foam. It's flowing S-curve shape wraps over the shoulders, down and across the chest. The harness follows a line of constant contact so no section of the shoulders bears more pressure than any other. Perhaps the most unique element of the harness is the Load Control Panel. All of the stitching and hardware is attached to the webbing that runs on top of the shoulder harness. This webbing panel attaches to the top of the foam padding with a wide strip of Velcro, allowing all of the stress of lifting and load carrying to be born by the webbing, so the Evasote foam has only one job to do; provide long lasting cushioning and comfort. Other manufacturers sew directly through the foam padding, weakening it and forcing the pad to become a load bearing part of the strap. The result is a shoulder strap that will stretch, distort and break down. Gregory shoulder harnesses provide unsurpassed comfort mile after mile. The fact that the Load Control Panel and the padding are separate components means the padding can be moved in towards or out away from your neck, allowing Gregory packs to be fine-tuned for the upper body. Women have found this feature, as well as our two women's specific harnesses particularly beneficial as they allow the shoulder harness to be more precisely aligned along the top of the shoulder.
