Setting a new standard for lightness and performance, Helios combines rugged Nitrylon and touch-friendly Lite-Pack materials into a performance hull. PVC-free construction reduces environmental impact. Nitrylon, a rugged polyester/rubber laminate, on outer hull helps ensure lasting service with superb abrasion- and puncture-resistance. Inner hull and decks utilize Lite-Pack natural rubber and polyester laminate for greater comfort and lighter weight. Rigid I-beam floor construction provides good tracking and its three main air chambers help ensure you'll stay afloat. Bow and stern spray decks offer refuge from spray while adding protection for gear stored underneath. Elastic netting deck rigging on bow deck and bungee rigging on stern deck for stowing extra gear securely. Backrest offers full support on via the stern deck, making long paddling excursions more comfortable. Adjustable foot rests fit any size paddler and offer better bracing and security in rough water; perimeter lines for re-entry assistance from water. Folds compactly into its own drybag-style 70-liter backpack for storage or transport--fits under most airline seats! Asymmetrically located carry handles assist in portaging kayak to and from the water. Tough, laminated Cordura® nylon backpack features adjustable, padded shoulder straps, roll-down drybag-style closure and external paddle pocket. Optional rudder system (sold separately) improves tracking, especially when heavily loaded. Great for apartment dwellers and others who don't have the storage space for a traditional, rigid kayak; packed dimensions are 8 x 14 x 20 inches.
