Lightweight, rattle-resistant REI® Ascent Shocklight trekking poles supply support and stability without disturbing the peace. Shocklight shock absorbers weigh less than common spring-loaded poles and won't rattle within the shaft as you walk. Shock-absorbing poles reduce fatigue while improving stability; lock-out mechanism creates a rigid pole when needed for more efficient climbing. DuoLocks™ internal locking mechanisms apply a wide area of pressure against pole walls to lock in length adjustment. DuoLocks showed 50% more holding power than other locking mechanisms during REI lab tests. Three-section telescoping poles extend to a maximum length of 55 inches and compact to 27.5 inches for easy storage and transport. Foam grips with an ergonomic, contoured shape are easy to hold; extended grip length allows pole to be held low during short side hill traverses. Adjustable padded neoprene wrist straps add support. Fitted with trekking disks and extra-durable tungsten carbide tips; rubber tip protectors included. Made from 7075-T6 aluminum for durability and a light carry weight.
